Leetch signs two-year deal with Rangers

Brian Leetch is a Ranger again, although he really never left.
After having his rights traded to the Edmonton Oilers before free agency began on July 1, Leetch on Wednesday signed a two-year deal with the only NHL team he's ever played for.
"We decided to wait and let the market settle before deciding what was in each of our best interests," Leetch said. "It was as painless a situation as it could have been."
Neither Leetch nor general manager Glen Sather would comment on the amount of the contract.
Leetch has been a cornerstone of the Rangers' defense since joining the team after the 1988 Olympics.
Leetch, 33, is a two-time winner of the Norris Trophy as the league's top defenseman. He earned $9.68 million last season when he played in just 51 games because of an ankle injury, scoring 12 goals and 30 points.
