Scouting: Turbo-charged Slovak rebounded from an early-season ECHL demotion to make significant strides in his sophomore pro term, finishing tied for second on the Moose with a plus-18 rating. An offensively-skilled rearguard with deceptive strength, Vydareny is a breathtaking skater and slowly learning when to add his prodigious speed to the rush, but he still takes unneccesary risks in his own end and needs to develop more defensive urgency as he can get lackadaisical. Vydareny is a talented puckhandler and has impressed with his poise and smarts although he will need to add some muscle and refine his defensive-zone play before advancing.
Bio Notes: In ‘01-02 was voted the “unsung hero” award with the Manitoba Moose (AHL). He won the Memorial Cup in ‘99-00 with Rimouski. Captain of the ‘99 Slovak Under-18 World team.
