Unglaublich!

Bisher in 4 Spielen schon 2 Tore erzielt.Felsner: Offer overseas too good to pass
Star forward apologetic for leaving Flags in midseason
By RICK JAKACKI
Times Herald
Brian Felsner said he didn't want to leave the Port Huron Flags.
But the star forward and player/assistant coach felt he had no choice.
Felsner, who is averaging more than a point per game, informed Flags Coach Paul Willett late Thursday night he was heading overseas to play for Brynas of the Swedish Elite League.
He said he received an offer he couldn't refuse Tuesday. He declined to disclose how much money he would make.
"I have to go," an apologetic Felsner said Friday. "There's no way I can turn it down."
The Flags placed Felsner on team suspension. He traveled Thursday with the United Hockey League team to Rockford, Ill., for Friday night's game but did not play.
Coach Paul Willett said he also won't play tonight against Flint or Sunday against Muskegon. Both games are at McMorran Arena.
"I want to say thanks to everyone (in the community)," Felsner said. "I loved playing at home, and I wish I could stay."
Willett said Brynas' offer for the next three months (and about 20 games) was more than Felsner would earn here in two seasons.
"It's nothing more than a money decision," Willett said.
Felsner, a Mount Clemens native who lives in Chesterfield and owns the Quizno's Subs shop in Fort Gratiot, had spent the past three and a half seasons in Europe. Prior to that, he played five and a half seasons in North America, including 12 games in 1997-98 with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Wanting to run his business and be with his family - a wife and a young son - year-round, Felsner decided to sign with the Flags in the offseason.
A 6-foot, 190-pounder, he collected 17 points (three goals) in 14 games. He missed seven games because of broken wrist.
Willett said Felsner is "the best player on our team and we're going to miss him."
"We've played games without him, and we've played pretty good, so we're not throwing a big panic button up," Willett said. "But we'll definitely try to replace him and bring in a player or two ... to offset his departure."
Felsner, 33, said he told each of his teammates, individually, of the news Friday.
"I feel pretty (crappy)," he said. "I love these guys - they're a great group of guys and it's what we wanted to build, and it's pretty (crappy of me) to do this. But in the big scheme of things, I've got to take care of my family."
He added his decision had nothing to do with the Flags. He said he was treated "first-class" and enjoyed working with everyone in the organization, meeting people in the community and playing close to home.
Felsner said his intent when he signed with Brynas was to play until its season ends in early March and rejoin the Flags for the stretch run and playoffs.
"My initial thought was to go and then come back and help out these guys for free when I came back and try to make it up to them," he said.
But the UHL instituted a new rule in the offseason which disallows players who are under contract to leave and return the same season or the next.
Felsner was informed of the rule Friday morning. Still, he's not ruling out playing in Port Huron in the future.
"I love it here, but I'd understand if they didn't want me back," he said. "It's a pretty (crappy) thing I'm doing, and I understand that."
