Jordan Staal hat ein 10 Jahre, 60 Mio Dollar Angebor der Pens abgelehnt. Er will wohl anch Carolina zu seinem Bruder. Und die suchen ja eine Granate weil sie aufgrund neuer Besitzer mehr investieren wollen.


Ich denke es wird dazu erst 2013 kommen, weil er dann UFA ist und die Canes keine Spieler/Draftrechte abgeben müssen.

Tim Thomas has waived his no-movement clause, which means the Boston Bruins can get out from under his salary cap hit, but the goalie still doesn't intend on playing next season, GM Peter Chiarelli told reporters at the NHL Draft on Friday.
Thomas is "being cooperative," Chiarelli said, according to NESN's Naoko Funayama. That's a bit of a change for the 39-year-old, who told the team about bizarre decision to sit out the 2012-13 season last month.

Thomas counts $5 million against the salary cap, which is a problem for the Bruins, who have less cap space than any other NHL team.
Teams attempting to acquire Thomas would be doing it for two potential reasons: One is to reach the salary floor, though the basis for that could change after the pending CBA negotiations.
Or, it could be a team that desperately needs goaltending and believes it could change Thomas' mind, despite the fact that he's given no real indication to that end. The former Vezina winner, if nothing else, is resolute in his beliefs, and Chiarelli said the situation hasn't changed. Thomas wants to spend time with his family and prepare to compete for the United States at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi—though there's no guarantee that NHL players will participate in the Games.
Thomas has one season left on his deal, but the Bruins have said that they'll exercise their right to roll that over to when—or if—he actually does return, meaning they'll retain control over him throughout the sabbatical and be able to play or trade him when it's over.
Tuukka Rask, Thomas' former backup, will take over the starting job for the the 2011 Stanley Cup champs, though he is a restricted free agent.

Sinn macht es wenig. Auch wenn die Canes jetzt mehr investieren wollen. Sie sind ein Team das eigentlich nie spektakuläre Trades durchführt, und v.a. ihren 1. Runden Pick hergeben. Wäre cleverer gewesen einen Free-Agent zu holen, und dafür Staal erst 2013. Meine Meinung.

Immerhin hatte ich Recht mit den Canes.

Aber Hauptsache endlich investieren die Canes mal!! jetzt muss noch ein Top 6 Stürmer her.

Mike Ribeiro has been acquired by the Washington Capitals in a trade with the Dallas Stars.
The Stars acquired center Cody Eakin and a second-round pick in this year's draft (No. 54 overall).
Ribeiro gives the Capitals a solid No. 2 center behind All-Star Nicklas Backstrom. The 12-year veteran had 63 points in 74 games last year.
Ribeiro is in the last year of his deal, with a salary and cap hit of $5 million.

Visnovsky für ein 2. Runden-Recht zu den Islanders. Eigentlich auch ein guter Trade. Visnovsky ist immer noch ein Top-Mann und war vorletztes Jahr punktbester Verteidiger der Liga. Er hat zwar einen Cap von 5,6 Mio, die Isles müssen aber nur 3 Mio pro Jahr zahlen und haben neben Streit nun einen 2. Top-Mann.

The New York Islanders found the veteran defenseman they'd been seeking, acquiring Lubomir Visnovsky in a deal with the Anaheim Ducks.
The Ducks acquired a second-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
The 35-year-old played in 68 games for the Ducks last year, totaling 27 points. In the 2010-11 season, Visnovsky was one of the top offensive defenseman in the league, totaling 68 points.
In his 11-year career, Visnovsky has played for the Kings, Oilers and Ducks.
Visnovsky is set to make $3 million in the 2012-13 season, but carries a cap hit of $5.6 million, which also helps the Islanders avoid concerns about failing to hit the salary floor.

Michalek zurück nach Phoenix. Aufgrund dieses Trades und des Staal-Trades dürfte nun Weber und Suter bzw. ein Granaten Stürmer Kadidat bei den Pens sein. Sie haben nun 14 Mio Dollar cap-space. Weber und z.B. Parise für Staal und Michalek. Das wäre eine erhebliche Verstärkung. Gerade in der Abwehr!!

Zbynek Michalek is the first domino to fall in the Pittsburgh Penguins' defensive rebuild. He's not likely to be the last.
Pittsburgh, with a first-round meltdown against the Philadelphia Flyers not far in the rearview mirror, sent Michalek back to the Phoenix Coyotes for two prospects in defenseman Harrison Ruopp, and goalie Marc Cheverie, and a third-round pick on Saturday. Michalek played five seasons with Phoenix before signing with the Penguins in July 2010.
Earlier in the night, the Penguins sent center Jordan Staal to the Carolina Hurricanes for center Brandon Sutter, defenseman Brian Dumoulin and Carolina's No. 8 pick in the draft, which they used to select defenseman Derrick Pouliot.
Michalek's play fell off in 2011-12 after a solid first season with the Penguins. Defensive partner Paul Martin, like Michalek a 2010 offseason signing, also could find himself on the move. The Penguins allowed 26 goals in six games against the Flyers. There are plenty of reasons for that—terrible play from the penalty kill and goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was to blame for a good portion. But it continued a trend that had started during the regular season—the defense, flat-out, wasn't good enough.
Pittsburgh's endgame for the moves is likely two-pronged. With Dumoulin, Roupp and Pouliot added to the fold, they have an almost bizarre amount of high-end defense prospects at various points in the system. If they turn into legitimate contributors to Pittsburgh's success—Simon Despres and Robert Bortuzzo could start the season in the NHL—great for the Penguins. If not, they could be useful as trading chips in the future.


Beyond that, though, the Staal and Michalek trades leave them with more than $14 million in cap space. A Martin trade would shave $5 million more off the payroll. At that point, they'd become major players for defenseman Ryan Suter and winger Zach Parise, the hands-down top-two free agents on the July 1 market. That, obviously, will continue shaking out over the next week or so.
As far as the non cap-space return for Michalek, though, Roupp is a 6-2, 200-pounder with a physical, defense-first style. He was the No. 84 pick in the 2011 Draft and spent last season with Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League. Cheverie, 24, split 2011-12 between the AHL and ECHL and is a borderline prospect.
Phoenix GM Don Maloney, meanwhile, adds a player he never wanted to lose back to the mix on a team that made it to the 2011 Western Conference finals.
"He was a very important player with us in regards our culture, how we wanted to play," Maloney told reporters in Pittsburgh. "We look at Z playing with a player like (young star) Oliver Ekman-Larsson as being a terrific combo matchup against the best players in the West and we’re just thrilled to have him back."
Maloney added that he stayed in contact with Shero about Michalek and summed up the less-than-ideal fit between team and player.
"Pittsburgh is a real uptempo style," Maloney said. "Get pucks up to the forwards in a hurry. Z is more of that defensive guy."

LOS ANGELES— The Los Angeles Kings reached agreements in principle Friday to re-sign centers Jarret Stoll and Colin Fraser, two big contributors to their Stanley Cup title run.
Stoll's three-year deal is expected to be worth $9.75 million, while Fraser will get a two-year deal worth $1.65 million.
The Kings have the entire core of their first championship team under contract except power forward Dustin Penner.
Stoll, who turns 30 on Sunday, is the Kings' third-line center and faceoff specialist. He also plays extensively on the Kings' penalty kill while providing veteran leadership.

Stoll has become a fan favorite while spending the past four seasons with Los Angeles, which acquired him in a 2008 trade with Edmonton. Although he matched his career low with 21 points in the regular season, he contributed five points in the playoffs, including the series-winning overtime goal in the first round to knock out Presidents' Trophy-winning Vancouver.
Fraser is a gritty, defense-minded forward who played extensively for the Kings on their depth lines before appearing in 18 playoff games. He scored only one goal in the postseason, but it was Los Angeles' first goal of the Stanley Cup finals, kicking off the Kings' victory over New Jersey in Game 1.
Fraser, who also won a championship in 2010 with Chicago despite playing in just three postseason games for the Blackhawks, is one of Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter's favorite players for his no-nonsense work ethic. The Kings acquired Fraser last summer from Edmonton for center Ryan Smyth, who demanded a trade to the Oilers.
Penner is the only major contributor to the Kings' Cup run who is still slated to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Los Angeles is scheduled to meet with representatives for Penner, who is eager to return and has acknowledged he would consider taking less than his full market value for the chance to defend the second Stanley Cup title of his career.

Für mich wird um Parise und Suter ein viel zu großer Hype gemacht. Carle ist kein Stück schlechter. Ich würde als Team nicht auf Suter warten, sondern jetzt Carle unter Vertrag nehmen. Denn wenn Suter einem Team zusagt, stürzen sich alle auf Carle. Und dann bekommen sie ihn auch nicht.


Hudler war von mehreren Medien eine Fehlmeldung. 16 Mio für 4 Jahre. Somit ein Schnäppchen für mich.
