Why is a Puck called Puck, because dirty little Bastard was already given.
Re: Calder Memorial Trophy -- Rookie of the Year
Erstaunlich.

2006 Winner
Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Capitals
Left wing Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals has won the Calder Memorial Trophy for 2005-2006, awarded "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey League."
Ovechkin, was a near-unanimous selection, receiving 124 of 129 first-place votes and five second-place votes for 1,275 points. Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby, also named on all 129 ballots, was second with 831 points.
Ovechkin's prolific scoring and sensational moves dominated headlines and highlight reels throughtout the season. The first pick overall in the 2004 Entry Draft led all rookies in scoring with 106 points and became the second rookie in history to tally 50 goals and 100 points in a season, following Winnipeg's Teemu Selanne in 1992-93. Ovechkin also led the NHL in shots with 425 - the most ever for a rookie - and ranked third among all players in points. His 52 goals tied for third in the League and ranked third all-time among rookies to Selanne (76) and Mike Bossy (53).
