2006 Division I groups all set
The IIHF has announced the allocations for the Division I tournaments of the 2006 IIHF World Championship.
For Group A, France defeated Japan on the final vote for hosting at the IIHF Congress by a count of 66-27. The host city will be Amiens.
For Group B, Estonia defeated Poland on the final vote by a count of 56-45. The host city will be Tallinn. Lithuania had also bid to host.
Group A will consist of:
Germany
France
Hungary
Great Britain
Japan
Israel
Group B will consist of:
Austria
Poland
The Netherlands
Estonia
Lithuania
Croatia
