Tallackson, the Minnesota right wing drafted two picks later by the Devils, is 6-4 and 196 pounds. The Central Bureau scouting report called him ''a power forward who drives hard to the net; a punishing body checker.''

Added 5/27/99
Barry Tallackson 1983 RC 6'3 200 St Paul (Minn.) Johnson H.S
Tallackson is a player who has really come on this season. He has great size and great reach. He has a wide (bull-legged) stride but is a very good skater. He is a very good puckhandler who protects it well. He has poise with the puck, and is creative, too. He doesn't just make the simple play, but will hold the puck to increase his options. He's also a scorer -- he has good hands near the net and a good shot. He moves the puck smartly, and sees the ice well. He was a standout at the US Under-17 tryout camp in March against many of the top 1983's in the U.S.
Tallackson is a player with tremendous upside. He is a power forward with surprisingly soft hands. He has come a long way in a short period of time and if he continues to improve, he should be a pro in the not-too-distant future. He has signed with the US National Team Development Program for next season.
We see him as a high first round prospect.

In December 2008 the Devil's waived their rights to the forward, just weeks after he underwent surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat associated with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome

"Tallackson is one of many power forwards within the Devils organization, once a team weakness. He is tough in the corners and difficult to clear when in front of the net. The winger is also a very unforgiving checker with an excellent wrist shot and good speed and mobility for a large skater.
There is no doubting the fact that Tallackson has great hands and a high overall skill level, but his intensity from shift to shift and game to game wanes occasionally, frustrating the organization. For such an imposing looking player, Tallackson’s physical involvement is almost non existent at times."
Vom Talent her is der Junge der Wahnsinn.

willkommen in augsburg,barry
